Our Staff

Pastor Preston believes that his role as pastor is to work to live, share and teach God’s work in a way that encourages, empowers, and equips fellow believers for the ministry of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 19-20) and the work of the Church. It must become our desire to be the living manifestation of His word among the people of the community first, then beyond our regions and finally to the world.

Preston is a graduation of Campbell College, East Carolina University, and Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He is a native of Holly Ridge, North Carolina. He served in the Public Schools of North Carolina for 30 years as a teacher, counselor, principal, and supervisor. In his spare moments he enjoys gardening.

His question to you today is, “Are you sure of where you will spend eternity.” That will be the most important question you every resolve to answer in your life. If you have questions about that, please come and let us help you.

Kelly has a burning desire to see young people come to know Jesus.   Statistics show that only four percent of teenagers in North Carolina profess to be a Christian; Kelly wants to see that number increase and she is willing to “do whatever it takes” to bring youth into the church.

Kelly has been involved in Youth Ministry for eight years and has served us for two years. She is a Graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is currently working on her Master’s of Ministry Degree at Andersonville Theological Seminary.

Kelly is married to our Minister of Music, Richard Witherspoon, and has two children, Katie and Jeffrey who are both involved in Bonfire Youth.
